I loved the first "Bad Ass" pretty much more than any other action/comedy film ever, partially because it was kind of right on the line of whether the dude was a superhero or not (technically, he wasn't, but I mean... c'mon) and had lots of humour and over-the-topness in ways that most films generally seem to avoid like the plague.
This one was just as entertaining and had even more humour, but the fight scenes didn't seem (to me, at least) as well thought-out as in the first one, nor did it get over the top in the same "um wow ok"-type of a way, which was a bit of a disappointment, although definitely not a big one.
The plots had quite a lot in common, more so than most sequels have with the films they're sequels of, but that didn't really matter because... well, it just didn't. It was also fun to see how the ending wasn't ruined in the way that I already thought for a second it would (I'm sure that was what the writer/director wanted people to think).
Thankfully, the whole cop-thing wasn't swung all around all the time, since that could have ruined the whole thing. Still, it was a bit "hey, this is supposed to make you feel something"-ish at a couple of times compared to the first film's "fuck everything and beat the shit out of everyone"-ism. Maybe that's a good thing, but it wasn't important enough to the plot to actually make a difference in any major way, which is why it had that type of a pseudo-feely feel.
Overall, though, this was just as good as the first one and I couldn't complain about anything even if I wanted to. Still, it's not groundbreaking in any way, nor did it go where I personally would've liked to see it go, so 85/100.
