I'm not writing much because my browser keeps crashing every time I type anything on Blogger, so yeah... just enjoy the music, or don't. If you never liked my vocals or synth stuff and whatnot, you might still like this album for Gotvet's heavy ass guitars, so give it a chance... or don't. Anyway, it's nice to finally put out a new DES album after a literal decade.

Deformed Elephant Surgery - Bifrost (2023)

Listen on Youtube

DOWNLOAD from Bandcamp or Mediafire

I forgot to post it right after release, but it's not like anyone reads this blog anyway. Here's another single from the upcoming DES album, with guitars and bass by Gotvet (links to his stuff), just like the whole album. The album is pretty much finished except we're still waiting for some guest vocals and there's some mixing and mastering to be done, so it's still the idea to get it out there before the year ends.

So, yeah, this song has a straight-up pop chorus, which some people might not like, but others might like that but not the rest of it. Or maybe you'll hate all of it. Dunno, we thought it's a pretty good song and that it should be a single. The lyrics are all over the place in a bunch of languages, not necessarily entirely grammatically correct even though I tried my best, but well. That's the case with a lot of the songs that will be on the album, even more so than previous stuff. Languages are cool, you know? And if there's even a small chance that it'll increase the odds that more people will like the music, that's just a bonus. Not that anyone cares about the lyrics with this kind of music either way, though, but still.

Deformed Elephant Surgery - Unicorn Worship (2019)

So, here it finally is! The tenth anniversary EP! Hopefully it being just an EP isn't too much of a disappointment for those who were expecting a full-length album, but I'm not saying it won't be expanded into one later. I'm also not saying it will be, though, because that would depend on various factors. Anyway...

1. Unicorn Worship
2. No Loli-Gagging
3. BEAR HERO
4. Lepidopterous Inundation
5. Scarlet Explosion
6. Pink Unicorn Chaos Rainbow
7. Snuff Film Casting Call
8. Cute Girls Cutting Zombies to Pieces
9. Unicorn Worship (instrumental)
10. No Loli-Gagging (instrumental)
11. BEAR HERO (instrumental)
12. Lepidopterous Inundation (instrumental)
13. Scarlet Explosion (instrumental)
14. Pink Unicorn Chaos Rainbow (instrumental)
15. Snuff Film Casting Call (instrumental)
16. Cute Girls Cutting Zombies to Pieces (instrumental)

Guitars and bass by Aljaž Špehar on tracks 1, 3, 5, 6 and 8 (Aljaž's Youtube & Twitter)
Guitars and bass by PSYCHSTEY on tracks 2, 4 and 7 (PSYCHSTEY's Bandcamp, Youtube & Twitter)

Click here to listen to the entire EP on Youtube (well, without the instrumental versions)

Download from Bandcamp or Mediafire

This is the first (but hopefully not last) DES release with real guitars, and as you can hear, it makes a pretty huge difference not just in terms of how the songs sound but what the songs are like, and I'm really glad about that and generally thankful to Aljaž and PSYCHSTEY for collabing with me on this!

Vlürch & Silver Linings - Plastered / Waiting (2019)

So, I collabed with Silver Linings. The result is pretty dark.

01. Vlürch - Plastered with Polaroids of Dead Children (feat. Silver Linings)
02. Silver Linings - Waiting for... (feat. Vlürch)

DOWNLOAD from Bandcamp
DOWNLOAD from Mediafire

Basically, it's a split, but we both did something to each other's songs. More noticeably Silver Linings did guitar, some of the vocals and synth stuff in my song (as well as generally making it better) whereas I just did some vocals at a couple of parts in his song. The cover art was also split, as you can see; he did the bottom/left half and I did the top/right half.

Deformed Elephant Surgery discography (free download)

Since there's a limit of 200 free downloads a month on Bandcamp and that has run out three times, I figured it's time to have somewhere that people can download all the DES albums from without having to go on potentially shady sites.

Currently, the entire discography is free to download and there is no option to pay (except for the latest single but you still shouldn't pay for it). If you want to support DES, don't.

With regards to the older stuff, please keep in mind that I started DES as a solo project when I was 15 in 2009 so everything before around 2012-2013 is absolute shit and cringily trying way too hard, etc. I regret a lot of early lyrics, song titles, etc. but the past can't be changed, and judging the late 2000s' and early 2010s' myspacegrind/myspacecore and post-myspacegrind scene(s) by 2020s' standards is kinda stupid. Don't get me wrong, it was fun at the time to just go for maximum edge and not care about anything for shits and giggles without thinking ahead for longer than a week, but it was a different time. If you like early DES, whatever, but if it's BECAUSE of the lyrics... well, please keep that to yourself and don't tell anyone about DES, ok?

I've decided to remove the download links to the first three albums. If you're into goregrind, there are thousands of artists out there who still do exactly that same type of shit, and don't try to tell me "nooo your early stuff was unique" because it was literally the most basic myspacegrind you ever heard... in fact, the worst. But since those are the albums you'll find everywhere when you google DES, unfortunately that's the legacy.

I haven't included split albums because I never got to download half of them myself, and the ones that were done directly with other artists/bands are all either available somewhere else or no longer available anywhere; I also honestly don't remember half of the splits I've done, so... yeah, that's shitty of me, but I don't remember much of my life from around the time most of the splits were done. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If anything gets deleted (Mediafire does that sometimes), let me know and I'll reupload.

I was worried I wouldn't finish an album this year, but I did. Just in time for Finland's 100th independence day, too, even though I forgot to post it in this blog. Whether any of the songs are actually listenable is another matter entirely, though... but I'm still proud of how this turned out; well, at least certain parts of certain songs, anyway.

So, I just finished this new album. It's pretty epic if I can say so myself. Most of the songs have lyrics in random as fuck mixtures of various languages and plain and simple gibberish, though there's some English as well, and whenever any of it makes any sense it's something about religion and mythologies. Not in a way that's pro-religion or anti-religion, just about that stuff. Anyway, I hope people like it, but if not, tell me why because I honestly think it turned out better than anything I've ever done before; I mean, this is a bit like how I wanted "Empyreal Obtenebration" to sound but just wasn't good enough at anything yet to do that, but on the other hand there isn't all that much in-your-face synth stuff*. And I don't sound like Gollum anymore when I sing clean vocals, at least not unless I want to. Anyway, let me know what you think if you listen!

Here's my Facebook page, by the way, if you wanna "like" it.

*Speaking of which, I kinda want to do a new, better version of "Feeding the Demiurge" one day in the future. The reason I haven't already is that I have no clue how I got that weird ass synth sound and haven't succeeded in getting that type of a sound again. Even if it sounds ridiculously bad and doesn't fit the song, I feel like it's an important part of what makes that song what it is and if I'm gonna do a better version of it, well... it'd need to have that anyway. Maybe if I get in that successful mood without having to arse too much, I'll also do a new version of "Four-Dimensional Fractal Maze". I probably wouldn't make it as dissonant, though...

St. Kain & Wormwood - Lachrymose Mesoglea (2014)

So, here it is: my collab with Onesimus Kain. It's pretty awesome, if I can say that without sounding like half a douchebag. :3

01. Explosive Ophthalmectomy
02. web in ur brains
03. An Adam's Apple a Day Keeps the Witch Doctor Away

(I might write some longer rant about how awesome it turned out and how smoothly things went collabing with Ness, but I'm not sure. Right now, though, I'm not nearly in an objective enough state of mind to do that. XD)

Heave the Sun - Evangelium Carnis Angelorum (2014) + Vlürch - Baroquérotique

I've finally finished this album... and I'm proud of it, even though it's not nearly as good as I'd wanted it to turn out. Anyway, here it is, and it's mostly some sort of industrial black metal/drone/dark ambient/whatever stuff.

Listen on Youtube, click the song titles:
01. The Baptismal Gallows
02. The Angel of the Lord of the Flies
03. Laparotomic Voyage Simulator
04. The Black Ulcer Blossoms
05. Rat King

Here's the album art thing:

~

Aand I also did some neoclassical stuff, or at least tried. I decided to call that song "Baroquérotique", since that's an awesome blend and it has apparently not been used as a song title before... I'm pretty sure I'll do more, so that's why it's "part 1" and "demo".

Vlürch - ...but what is art? (2014)

I've finished a new album, which is all improvised stuff on acoustic guitar. Kind of like some sort of hipster jazz, but not really seriously. It's a little bit dissonant at parts and almost everything is out of tune, so if you're not into that, you might experience intense bowel movements, nausea, headaches, urges to rape children and burn churches. So, if you're not a total hipster, please, for the safety of others and yourself, don't listen.

I uploaded the whole album on Youtube, click this.
Download for free from Bandcamp, click here.

01. The concept of fine art is bullshit, but not all pictures of shitting bulls are art
02. Art is good for children, but are children good for art?
03. If life imitates art and life's a bitch, doesn't that mean that art is a bitch?
04. True art is a representation of an artist's subconscious desire for asexual reproduction
05. Now, what do you say to strangers who give you art?

So yeah, it took a while to get this album to the point it was ready to be uploaded anywhere, mostly because of unrelated things and stuff... all the songs were like finished a pretty long time ago, but there were things like my voice getting all shit and at least Nves having a life and whatnot. Anyway, here it is, if anyone actually gives a shit, which would be nice.

Deformed Elephant Surgery - Synthcorevolution (2013)

Heave the Sun - Perditionism (2013)

I'm really proud of this album, especially because it's the most black metalish stuff I've ever done, although not just black metal. There are a few parts with clean vocals, so if you hate that, well, you don't have to listen those songs.

Download

01. Mouthful of Festering Goat Entrails
02. Putrescent Stench of a Tomb
03. Intracranial Tongue Swarm
04. An Industrial Abyss
05. The Lair of Inbred Devil Worshippers
06. Monolithopedion
07. Necrophilic Ritual of Black Death

So, if you like this album, tell your friends about it, post it in your blog if you have one, blah blah blah, etc. Obviously, no one will ever even download it, so I'm just wasting my time typing this here. But if you do like it, don't be ashamed of that. It's nothing to be ashamed of if you like my music! Ok, maybe it is, but whatever.

Heave the Sun - Ritual Metamorphoses (2012)

Even though I hadn't been posting anything about doing a new Heave the Sun album, well, that's what's finished now. :P Well, an EP, I suppose. An EP that's an hour long. Yeah, it's a full-length album, okay? Although, only half of the songs are new, the rest are remastered/re-recorded versions of older songs, including a 20 minutes long version of "Feeding the Demiurge". I'm sure someone will like it. If not, well, it's okay.

01. Four-Dimensional Fractal Maze
02. Ritual of the Pegasus (by Which the Megalith Tribes Embodied Droughts)
03. Miniature Sphinx
04. Metamorphosis of the Prophet to Light
05. Violent Surgical Prophecy
06. Feeding the Demiurge

...and download: http://www.mediafire.com/?izqcbolj5b65a76

Of course, I've uploaded all of the songs to Youtube, so click the song names if you want to listen them there.

I'm pretty proud of it, especially the song "Violent Surgical Prophecy", since it kind of turned out the way I wanted it to be, instead of just something that was a fail at something and an unintentional success at something else.

If anyone has a music blog and they want to post this, please do, or if you just want to tell your friends who might like it, tell them, since, you know, that'd be nice, since I'm a selfish asshole. Yeah, wanting people to listen my music makes me a selfish asshole. That's not my logic, but everyone else's, apparently... since it makes me a "mainstream person" in some fucked up way. Oh well. :P

Idiotic idioms + DES bandcamp + new version of Burning Bush Monkey

If you want to make people look at you like "wtf bro", say these things to them. I'm sure in a few days you'll become the village potato, or if you fail at delivering the punchline (since when do idioms have punchlines?), at least you'll become the village unicorn, and that's awesome as well.

Some of these are references to my songs, so if you say them, you're supporting me as well, so you get a free turtlefuck lesson from your nearest potato. If you don't, well, that's not my fault, but yours for trying to talk to a potato and expecting it to answer. Everyone knows that potatoes don't talk, they have fance to think about; it would make them look like tomatoes if they went around speaking to random people.

"The grass is greener at the end of the rainbow."
"A potato is mightier than a sword if the sword isn't a potato, but even if it is, the potato is still mightier."
"Don't hate me if your penis is smaller than mine, hate your penis and cut it off."
"No man can turtlefuck his own knee."
"Ladies and gentlemen, look at my unicorn. My unicorn has five legs."

...I'm sure that if you say the last one in a grocery store, they'll probably throw you out and give you 10€ to hire a prostitute for some reason, since they think you're sexually frustrated and that the fifth leg is a penis, even though it's not, it's a fifth leg that grows from the neck or stomach or chest or something. And also:

Click that banner image thingy to go to the Bandcamp page. Basically, people on Facebook convinced me to register there, and so i did, and uploaded the newest album there. Of course, it's only the actual album and not the extra stuff, since one of those had that Dalek sound, and without it, it wouldn't be the same, so all those extra songs aren't there, but I'm pretty sure no one cares one bit about that, since it was just one really boring deathcore song that had the most überbrutal breakdown that is humanely possible (notice the sarcasm; read as: the most clichéd breakdown that is so lame it can't even be comprehended by the human ears) ("Extermination", which is the one with the Dalek thing; click this to listen it on Youtube if you didn't already when I first uploaded it and posted that post about it (I can't make coherent sentences today for some reason...)) and a remastered/re-whatevered version of "Burning Bush Monkey", and of "Four-Dimensional Intercourse Pentagram", but that still sounded like absolute shit, and the awfully failed "Bunny-Induced Amnesia", which had that autotune fail (but I was too lazy to change it), and an overall very, very experimental (read as: a total mess) "Flying Combat Sharks", a short and porny version of "Hyperspherification", titled "Hypersphernography", and a short, lame "Rotten Crawling Things".

So yeah, if you download it from Bandcamp, you don't miss much. And besides, why would you download it from Bandcamp when you can download it from the blog post just before this one, which I'm gonna link here just to annoy you even more? (If the first links stop working, download from the ones under those; it's just divided differently.) But yeah, if you want to download it from there, go and download it from there. :P

By the way, I uploaded the remastered/re-recorded/re-edited/re-whatevered version of "Burning Bush Monkey" to Youtube.

I'm even more proud of it now, since the whole contrast between the happy pop-like parts and dubsteppish wub wub wub parts is a lot bigger, and I think it's probably not totally impossible to make out the lyrics. Of course, it could be that it is, but well... it's okay, since that's not the most important thing about stuff. If you want to download just this song, click this.

Extermination + thanks, Total Deathcore! :D

So, a song about Daleks, just because. Oh, and yeah, there's that "exterminate!" sound sampled in it, and I hope nobody is offended by it and no one will sue me for it, it's just a second or two in the whole thing, and it's a sort of tribute song to Daleks, since they're epic, and Doctor Who in general, since it's one of the best TV serieses ever.

Download: http://www.mediafire.com/?j4yn7kx6aakovkh

...and also, TD linked one of my songs in their Facebook ("Black Hole Tentacles"), and that got me a bunch of likes and stuff, so THANKS all of you, and especially TD, etc. and yaaayyyy. :D

Heave the Sun - Elysium and Inferno (2012)

I hadn't really posted anything about doing this, but yeah, two new full-length Heave the Sun albums. How do I do stuff so fast? Well, there's a very simple explanation to why these two were finished so soon after the first album and the DES album that just happened to get finished around the same time; "Inferno" was already 75% done by the time I finished "Empyreal Obtenebration", like some people might know, although I'm not sure how they could know that. Anyway, "Elysium" pretty much came in one huge surge of inspiration. But they're so different that it'd feel wrong to clump all songs together on the same album ("Elysium" is folk rock/prog metal/post-rock or something like that, "Inferno" is symphonic/industrial black/death metal) so... this is the best way to do it, I think.

ELYSIUM
Track list:
01. Metamorphosis of the Prophet to Light
